The bar is licensed for the sale of alcohol on the premises.
The bar has a general stock but can be adapted to meet your specific needs:
Cask Ales
Lager (usually San Miguel) on draught
Bottled beer, larger and cider
Wide range of spirits and mixers
Wines chosen and sourced by an international wine expert including a range of red, white, rose, prosecco and champagne
A very broad selection of gins and cocktails
A full range of soft drinks and non-alcoholic beers
The sale of alcohol is a licensed activity in the UK. The Hall is licensed and a bar can be provided and staffed by the Trustees under the terms of that licence. No other body, including caterers, are or can be licensed to sell alcohol on the premises.
If a bar is provided then only drinks purchased through the bar can be consumed on the premises unless specific arrangements have been made.
We will not serve alcohol to any persons under the age of 18. Therefore guests maybe asked for proof of age. We do not allow 18th or 21st birthday parties, or similar events, at the Hall.
Welcome drinks can be arranged for you. We will seek to meet your specific requirements.
The cost of welcome drinks will vary depending on the proportion of children/non-alcholic drinks to be provided. We can provide an estimate for you.
We only charge for the drinks actually consumed. These will be adjusted after the event.
Wine can be provided for the table at a discount to the bar price.
Wine is provided for us by Davy's in London and chosen for us by a world renowned wine expert (who lives in the village!)
We can arrange for cask beer to be supplied. However cask beer and ciders must all be used on the night. If there is significant amounts left then the management reserve the right to charge the excess at cost.
Hooky is our local craft ale.
If we cannot supply the drinks of your choice then we will charge corkage for any bottles / casks brought into the event, if the bar is open.
Corkage is a typical charge in the events industry, and corkage contributes to the overall cost of the bar and the upkeep of the Hall. The Hall is a charity and it relies on a contribution from the Bar to keep events and rental prices as low as possible and to maintain the Hall.
Corkage rates:
• prosecco / wine £6 bottle (70cl)
• beer / lager £1.50 bottle
• non-alcholic £3 litre
• cask ales / cider £1.50 pint
If you wish to put an amount behind the bar for free drinks, arrange tabs or to pay a contribution for each drink (eg 50%) then this can be arranged. Please make this clear in advance as it can take time to set up.
If you do not wish to have a bar then you can provide alcohol to your guests free of charge. The bar will then be left locked up, although glasses may be provided for a small cost.
If we do not provide the bar then alcohol cannot be sold to your guests.
Please note we do not allow caterers or 3rd parties to provide & manage bars in any circumstance.
We aim to provide a wide selection of drinks for your guests and if you let us know what you and your guests are likely to drink then
we can ensure sufficient supplies.
We generally have San Miguel lager and Hooky on draft, a wide range of popular and unusual gins, vodka, rum, whisky as well as bottled lager, beer & ciders. Our wines are specially chosen and we can provide shots / cocktails.
We can provide a gin bar or separate outside bar. Prices are set at or below local pub prices.
